College students from all over the Upstate are hosting Miracle Network Dance Marathons throughout the month of March to raise funds and awareness for Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Upstate, the area’s local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
At most colleges, Dance Marathon is a student-run nonprofit organization that participates in annual fundraising and awareness events. Dance Marathons can run anywhere from 6-48 hours long. During these events, the individual school’s student body participates in multiple activities, including dancing, hearing stories and interacting with Miracle Families. 100% of the funds raised stay local to support local kids. Since inception, Miracle Network Dance Marathon has raised more than $250 million for kids across North America- ensuring that no child or family fights pediatric illness or injury alone.
“Miracle Network Dance Marathon has given me the opportunity to be a part of something greater than myself and it is extremely rewarding to see first-hand where the money we raise is going,” says Clemson University senior, Blakeley Yandle, “Clemson Miracle has been one of my favorite memories of my college experience, and I am forever thankful to have been a part of such a wonderful organization.”
