A:The Office of Philanthropy & Partnership is the philanthropic arm of Greenville Hospital System, seeking gifts of time, talent, and treasure from the giving community.
  
Q:Why is the Office of Philanthropy & Partnership needed?
A:Greenville Hospital System does not turn any patient away based on ability to pay for medical care. The Office of Philanthropy & Partnership works to build philanthropic support for programs throughout the hospital system to create high-quality health care for everyone in the Upstate communities.
  
Q:What makes the Office of Philanthropy & Partnership unique?
A:The Office of Philanthropy & Partnership is not in the business of fundraising. Rather, it is an advocate for philanthropy—building relationships. Many philanthropists have a deep interest in the health and well-being of the community and its citizens. They want to give their time, talent, and/or treasure to those health-related programs making a positive difference in the quality of health outcomes for those citizens being served. It is the Office of Philanthropy & Partnership’s responsibility to seek involvement and encourage funding opportunities for people outside of the hospital system by:
  • Building relationships with interested community philanthropic and partner prospects
  • Providing important GHS facts and uplifting victory stories from grateful patients and caregivers
  • Sharing the philanthropic and partner opportunities attracting significant giving
  • Enabling philanthropists to partner with GHS for the betterment of the Upstate
  • Collaborating with other community organizations that share the GHS mission
Q:Why should I donate to the Office of Philanthropy & Partnership?
A:Your contributions help provide the means necessary to create high-quality medical care for people in the Upstate. Programs, medical equipment, renovations, and education are just a few examples of what can be possible through generous donations.
  
Q:How will my donation be used?
A:As a donor, you have different options as to how your gift will be used. You may make a donation to a specific area or program or you may make an unrestricted donation. If you choose an unrestricted donation, your gift will go to an area or program that is in the most urgent need.
  
Q:What percentage of my donation goes to administrative/operational costs?
A:None. One hundred percent of your donation goes toward the program or area of your choice. Our office is operationally supported by the Greenville Hospital System, which makes it possible for every dollar donated to go where you as a donor specify.

Safe Kids Upstate releases report to the community, kicks off National Safe Kids Week

 
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Safe Kids Upstate released a report April 23 detailing the organization’s efforts over the past 15 years to reduce the number of accidental childhood injuries and save lives. Since its inception in 1994, Safe Kids Upstate has contributed to a 25 percent reduction in deaths and a 17 percent reduction in accidental injuries. They have also helped reduce the number of motor vehicle deaths of children four years of age and under by 43 percent.
